The car featured on the cover of Autocar and Top Gear is Car #26.

This car was sold by MG Sport & Racing while in Administration

The car featured on the Cover of David Knowles Book is Car #108    MG XPower SV   Trophy Blue, Built for Nick Stephenson.

This car was shipped out to China support a motorshow in during 2004 along with other MG Rover cars.  As it was left Right Hand Drive, Chinese customs impounded the car.  The Chinese appointed importer for MG Rover Group had previously advised that RHD cars would be fine for the motorshow, however, they where in fact impounded as they are illegal in China.

Eventually, MG Rover wrote to the authorities and requested that they keep the cars ilo payment for storage costs which customs had been charging and the importer refused to pay.  Interestingly, the importer was also called Phoenix'  no relation to the UK.
